Double Your Impact

Give Now & Delores Barr Weaver Will Double Your Impact for Women & Girls.

In honor of WGA’s 25th Anniversary, Delores Barr Weaver (right), a co-founder of the Women’s Giving Alliance (WGA), is offering a 1:1 match for donations to the WGA grants pool of up to $150,000 through September 30, 2026.

All gifts will be pooled with WGA membership contributions to increase the size and scope of WGA’s 2027 grants to nonprofits addressing violence against women and girls.

Everyone is welcome to participate in giving. There is no requirement to be a WGA member to make an impact for women and girls.

The Need for Safety

  • In Baker, Duval, and Putnam counties, the rate of domestic violence is higher than the rest of the state. Duval has the highest incidence in Northeast Florida, with a total of 71,125 cases, a rate of 486 offenses per 100,000 residents, according to 2024 data available from the Florida Department of Health.
  • National data suggests offenses are under-reported. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence: About one in four women experiences intimate partner violence in her lifetime.
  • Nonprofits serving women and girls have more need for funding than what is available. In 2026, WGA received more than 59 grant applications seeking total funding of $4.8M. Our grant pool was $650K.

WGA's Approach to Addressing Violence

WGA’s grantmaking focus and approach are informed by research and led by WGA Members.

Addressing Violence Against Women & Girls:

  • Preventing: Helping girls be safer and more empowered at home, school, and online and educating the community about violence against women and girls.
  • Surviving: Broadening short-term services for female victims and their children. Shelter is critical, but it may only be the beginning.
  • Thriving: Expanding long-term support enabling transition to self-sufficiency (and independence from the abuser).
