The history of WGA’s grant making exemplifies the support we have for our African American women and girls. In addition, many of our grantees’ include diverse races and ethnicities within their staff and leadership, as well as their served populations. A few highlights:
- 5 of the 8 grantees awarded in 2020 serve populations that are 74%-100% African American
- 4 of the 8 grantees are headed by African Americans
- 2 of the 4 remaining grantees have African American Program Coordinators
WGA continues to create partnerships with racially and ethnically diverse groups to listen and learn from their perspectives.
